It was woven by artisans using a back-strap loom, a time honored method of weaving, and made in partnership with a non-profit organization on Lake Atitlan, Guatemala. Archive New York is a line of handwoven, artisan made home decor products, founded in 2014 in Brooklyn, NY. The founder, Amira Marion, grew up in a home filled with Guatemalan textiles gathered by her parents in the 1970s. Her own designs emphasize a deep connection with Central American artisans, a commitment to Fair Trade practices, and the honoring of Maya culture, heritage and technique.
