Fashion's royal family, if there ever was one, the Missonis are best known for their production of colourful patterned knitwear, launched in the 1970s and often featuring a characteristic zigzag pattern. As with the brand's clothing — which has input from several generations of Missonis — the clan's family recipes have healthy respect for tradition and the Missoni's Italian heritage. Francesco Maccapani Missoni, son of creative director Angela Missoni, has collected a number of these recipes, from both his parents’ and grandparents, to create Assouline's 'Missoni Family Cookbook', an anthology of the family's favourite home-cooked dishes which, until now, have been closely guarded. The book's 240 pages are accompanied by 170 illustrations, all carefully edited by Maccapani Missoni.
