Created by hand, knot by knot, GAN's 'Bereber' rug is a contemporary combination of traditional Moroccan techniques with 100% virgin New Zealand wool. The application of tie-dyed threads — a method in which textiles are tied while they are being coloured — has resulted in a nuanced and beautiful variation in tone, while alternating patterns in close proximity to each other amount to a surface design that appears diffused. The varying colours and gradients that appear in the dyed wool threads themselves create a richness and depth to a rug that is equal doses luxe and modern.
