Released in 2013 as the latest "it" bag, the Louis Vuitton Capucines is named after Rue des Capucines in Paris, which is where Louis Vuitton opened his first store way back in 1854. This bag, which made its debut in a stylish advertising campaign shot by German photographer and filmmaker Peter Lindbergh featuring actress Michelle Williams, is crafted of full-grain Taurillon calfskin leather in black and comes in MM. It features calfskin lining, two large interior compartments with a flat pocket and a zipped pocket, a reinforced leather top handle with gold ring links and perhaps most special of all, a brass cut out LV logo on the top edge of the front flap. With shoulder, elbow or hand carry options, the Louis Vuitton Capucines has been launched in a plethora of colors since its release - including electric blue, taupe and cobalt. The leather, which undergoes minimal chemical processing, is the same used by Hermes. The Capucines is a sleek and classic departure from Louis Vuitton's popular monogram design and in addition to the MM comes in GM size, but since its release has been consistently sold out - another sure fire way to know that it is here to stay.
