商品描述
American artist John Baldessari was well-known for his use of appropriated imagery and often wry commentary on contemporary culture. This print, from his series titled Madame Cézanne’s Hairdos, was inspired by the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 2015 exhibition centered on Paul Cézanne’s muse, Hortense Fiquet. Baldessari became keenly inspired by Fiquet’s many hairstyles and created a series of prints that transform, isolate and exaggerate their shape and scale. The result is a highly stylized and graphic composition constructed with flattened geometric forms that reimagine and invite reinterpretation, eliciting new ways of looking at traditional imagery.
